The Harvest is an award-winning short film that forms the first part of director Wendy P. Espinal's trilogy about rural life in the Dominican Republic. Espinal focuses her lens on the daily activities of Milena, an enterprising young woman who has spent her life in the Pico Duarte National Park. Narration is provided by Milena's daughter, Iris, who has just graducated from middle school and is about to leave her rural home to continue her studies.
