Orhan Tekeoğlu was born in Trabzon and attended Gazi University in Ankara. After graduating with a degree from the Department of Radio and Television in 1983, he spent 25 years working as a journalist, writing for the Anatolian News Agency and daily newspapers Sabah and Milliyet.His first feature film, Öyle Sevdim ki Seni” (I Loved You So Much), a love story that addresses immigration and prejudices, received awards at a number of foreign film festivals.

His movie "Time to Leave" was selected for screening at Foça Film Days 2021.
