Selim Uyar was born in Germany in 1975. After returning as a child with his family to Turkey, he grew up on his family’s farm in Ünye, Ordu. He later studied at Erciyes University in Kayseri, graduating from the Faculty of Radio, Cinema and Television in 2019. His short documentary and fiction films address social issues like climate change and animal rights. Uyar’s film Kördüğüm received awards at both the 17th Istanbul Environmental Film Festival and the 21st Safranbolu Golden Saffron Documentary Film Festival. Uyar is currently working on a Master’s Degree at Ordu University.
His film "Hazelnut Fish" was selected for screening at Foça Film Days 2022.
