Doriana Monaco was born in Benevento, Italy in 1989. She studied archaeology and art history at the University of Naples Federico II. After working as an AD on Edoardo De Angelis’s 2014 film Perez, she made her directorial debut with two short films in 2015: “Anatomia di un pensiero triste” and “Laziest Girl in Town”. In 2016, she joined the FILMaP – Atelier de cinema du reel de Ponticelli, where she directed the documentary Cronopios, which received the Corso Salani Prize at the Trieste Film Festival in 2017.
Her film "Agalma" was selected for screening at Foça Film Days 2022.
