A round of applause to the writers, scenarists and podcasters who successfully participated in the “Izmir’I Yazıyorum (I’m Writing Izmir)” project conducted in 2023-24.
Organized and implemented by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality-Izmir Cinema Office, the project was designed to foster the creation of audio-visual and literary works highlighting the many faces and facets of Izmir.
A notable number of participants from outside Izmir were present at the closing ceremony for the project, which was held on the evening of January 10 at the historic Izmir Havagaz Fabrikası.
As part of the ceremony Ezel Akay, Irmak Zileli, Elif Congur, Melisa Üneri, Nida Dinçtürk and Levent Kazak, who led the training program conducted by project partner Senaryo Studyo, presented Certificates of Completion to the project participants.
During the ceremony, participants listened to a segment of the podcast “There’s More to Foça than Fish and Raki” hosted by Foça Film Days founder Deborah Semel Demirtaş. The podcast, which featured Foça Film Days volunteer and retired Ankara State Folk Music Choir voice artist Hayriye Abakay, was received with great applause from the ceremony participants. "There’s More to Foça than Fish and Raki" presents an opportunity to introduce Foça and its creative residents to a wide audience and it is expected to be “on air” soon within the scope of the ‘I’m Writing Izmir’ project.
