A chance encounter on a friend’s social media account led Zehra Yiğit to the Hungarian National Digital Archives, where she discovered hundreds of photographs taken by the Hungarian traveller/photographer Zsigmond Fejes during his 1914 journey through Cilicia. Inspired by Fejes, Yiğit invited her friend, Perihan Taş Öz, to accompany her as she followed in Fejes’s footsteps in attempt to rediscover a forgotten history. The result is a documentary film that invites the viewer to participate in Yiğit’s journey of personal memories as well as a collective journey of memory in pursuit of archaeological and cultural heritage.
