(No dialog)

Filled from start to finish with a mesmerizing musical backdrop of Georgian folk music, Back for the Future documents Georgia's unique folk traditions, which changed and evolved over hundreds of years as they were passed down from generation to generation. Georgian traditional folk culture and art not only represents a form of world heritage of exceptional importance, they also continue to play important roles in Georgian daily life. The characters in Gia Diasamidze’s film are mainly elderly men and women who have managed to keep these folk traditions alive. Because Diasamidze spent years documenting these traditions, most of the characters portrayed in his film are no longer alive, adding a poignancy to this uplifting musical feast.
