In the documentary Specularia - Glass Windowpanes in Roman Times, archaeologist Géraldine Frère and glass masters try to reproduce ancient glassmaking techniques using the method of experimental archaeology. The film reveals not only the archaeological processes, but also how a young scientist and experienced master complement each other. Specularia has screened at prominent archaeological film festivals, including festivals in Rochefort, Belgium, Florence, Italy, and Amiens, France.
Belgian filmmaker Phillipe Axelle has been making documentaries for 40 years. His films have been broadcast around the world and have received numerous international awards in Europe and in the United States.
