Alhambra: The Lost Paradise
Alhambra

Serving as a sometimes palatial defensive residence, a symbol of the Kingdom of Granada’s socio-cultural apex, the last Muslim stronghold in a once again Catholic Spain, and a Renaissance palace under Charles V, the Alhambra today preserves the successive layers of 800 years of history, architecture, dreams and fantasies. Marc Jampolsky’s award-winning film lets us in on the secrets behind the beauty and durability of this man-made paradise. Historians and scientists involved in the many excavations and restoration projects underway at the Alhambra reveal the exceptional and tragic destiny of this Islamic architectural masterpiece in Western lands.
