Directed by Ezgi Üner

Heritage explores the ancient bond between arrow and bow in a captivating journey where tradition intersects with modern sport. From the dusty pages of history to today's modern fields, this short doc opens a window onto the centuries-old world of Turkish archery, which has been recognized by UNESCO as a significant form of intangible world cultural heritage. Bows brought to life by masterful hands, meticulously carved arrows, intricate thumbrings that protect the archer’s fingers… Every detail bears the traces of centuries of accumulated knowledge and mastery. Archers racing against the wind on horseback carry the spirit of the battlefield into the present, while artisans, through quiet but profound labor, pass on heritage to the future. The film concludes with a look at the disciplined and aesthetic world of Olympic archery, where the power of the past takes on new meaning. Ezgi Üner’s short documentary introduces the viewer not merely to a technical process, but to a culture and a way of life.
