When the routine of modern urban life in Madrid started weighing her down, actress Aida Ballmann took off for Senegal in search of the Africa described to her by her German parents. The Ballmanns had lived there before settling down in the Canary Islands, which is where Aida grew up. In Sand Path, she steps behind the camera for the first time to bring us a movie that introduces us to Senegalese culture from the perspective of an outsider while alowing us to share her interior journey and her reflections on culture and difference.
