At the heart of the Royal Institute of Artistic Heritage of Belgium (IRPA) is a group of passionate professionals whose skills are nearly unknown to the public at large. This is their story. Nina Degraeve’s documentary introduces us to the work being undertaken to preserve Belgian heritage. The IRPA team is involved in the conservation and restoration of paintings and sculptures, fragile historical objects, and religious buildings that have been damaged by recent floods. The Heart of Heritage reveals the meticulous details involved in the restoration processes, allowing viewers to bear witness to how works of art and cultural heritage change over time, and to the dedication of all those involved in efforts to preserve these historical treasures.
Nina Degraeve is a Belgian film director.
