Sharofat Arabova is a filmmaker and a film scholar who conducts research on the history of Tajik cinema. She holds a degree in Cultural Studies from Russian-Tajik University and in Film Direction from the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune. Arabova has won a number of awards for her short and feature-length fiction films. Her recent work include both fiction (Nasib, 2021) and documentary films (The Tulip Stories, 2020; Dad: In memory of Mamatkul Arabov, 2019; Safarnoma: Notes on a Heritage path, 2019).
