Born in Athens in 1975, Giorgos Komakis is an independent filmmaker based in Lemnos, Greece. He studied theater and acting at Iakovo Kambaneli's Drama School and at AKMH Athens college, where he went on to complete a program in directing. Komakis has worked on various programs for the Greek television industry, and has directed documentaries that have been aired on ERT3 and vice.com. Komakis is the founder of the "LXS Cinema Project", a cinematography group on the island of Lemnos.

His film "Kehajas, A Man of the Land" was selected for screening at Foça Film Days 2022.
