Savaş Yavuz was born in Trabzon in 1991. He completed the Faculty of Communication in University of Konya, receiving a BA in 2014. He went on to receive an MA from Giresun University, and he is currently working on his PhD at Hacı Bayram Veli University in Ankara. Since 2017, he has also been working as a Research Assistant in the Department of Visual Communication Design in Sakarya. His second film Koncolos, which screened at Foça Film Days in 2019, won First Prize in the Safranbolu International Golden Saffron Documentary Film Festival’s Amateur Category in 2017 and was a finalist in the TRT Documentary Film Awards’ National Student Category in 2018.

His third film “Decaying Roots” was selected for screening at Foça Film Days 2022.
