Serkan Kaçmaz was born in Kadirli/Osmaniye. He completed his primary and secondary education in Kadirli. After graduating from the Language and History-Geography Faculty of Ankara University, Kaçmaz returned to Osmaniye, where he continues to work on both short films and documentaries.

"Dust of the Stone" has been shown at festivals in Singapore, Serbia, and in Istanbul at the 13th Akbank Film Festival. The documentary is selected for screening at Foça Film Days 2022.
