Bülent Boral was born in Bingöl in 1972 and moved to Istanbul after completing primary school. Boral has a background in theatre, having both acted and directed in numerous plays. Between 2008-2015 he worked with the Mesopotamia Cinema Collective. His first documentary film, “Dersim’li Halk Ozanı: Sılo Qiz”, was shown at numerous festivals in Turkey and abroad. “The Man Talking to Stones,” Boral’s second documentary film, was featured at the 15th Documentarist in Istanbul, the 22nd Frankfurt Turkish Film Festival, and the Ceylon Film Festival in the US, where it received an Honorable Mention Award.
