This film from Abbas Khosrogerdi and Manizhe Serag takes us inside glass and pottery production facilities in Iran to learn how traditional handicrafts are made. The film has no dialogue to distract from the mesmerizing motion of the workers and the sounds of their modern workshops.
Abbas Khosrogerdi was born in 1975 in Sabzevar, Iran. He holds a bachelor's degree in history. After embarking on a career in filmmaking in 1995, over the next 20 years he worked on more than 150 short films as either screenwriter, cinematographer, or assistant director. He made his directorial debut with the 8-millimeter short film ‘The Last Alarm’.
Manizhe Serag was born in 1988 in Sharood, Iran. She holds a Master Degree in Agricultural Engineering, but later turned to filmmaking. Serag and Khosrogerdi worked together on the short film "The Heritage", which was accepted for screening in the ‘short film corner’ at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016. The film was also nominated for best cinematography and directing at a number of international film festivals.
