            "Laines Paysannes" is a young company based in Ariege, France that collects wool from local sheep breeds to use in hand-woven clothes and rugs. The company is contributing to the revitalization of this old industry in the region, but they are regularly faced with economic difficulties in this ambitious task. Catherine Lafont’s documentary Little Fleece reveals how team members are struggling to continue on  a path that is driven by ethical values and a passion for craftsmanship. Creative storytelling marks this mid-length documentary, which follows the team along everchanging routes in their efforts to keep traditional crafts and regional heritage alive.

Catherine Lafont
grew up in the countryside in southwestern France. Since her childhood, she has been passionate about arts and literature. Step by step, she discovered cinema, visual creation and animated film. After finishing her studies at ENSAV, a Cinema School in Toulouse, Catherine began directing documentaries. Today, she combines her interest in visual art and documentaries to create films dealing with social and environmental issues. Her movie Little Fleece has been shown in international festivals, including the International FReDD Green Film Festival in Toulouse; the Babul Eco Film Festival in Telangana, India, the Ortometraggi Film Festival in Turin, Italy; and the Green Country Film Festival in Wagoner, USA.
