The art of sandalmaking is an ancient one that has even been documented through wall paintings that appeared inside the pyramids of Egypt. But today, with the development of mass production and the availability of cheap replicas, sandalmaking, like many other traditional occupations, has become a dying art. The Master Without an Apprentice introduces us to Fevzi Olca, an artisan, poet, and the last sandalmaker of Marmaris, a town famous for its leather sandals.
