On April 14, women documentary filmmakers living in Greece, Turkey and Cyprus met online for the final session of a series of Masterclasses in Producing for Documentary Film. The classes were led by Cynthia Kane and Anjanette Levert, two documentary film producers from the United States who have left their mark on countless documentary film projects. Participants not only learned valuable lessons about producing films, they also had the opportunity to pitch their own projects to these two experts. Perhaps the most important part of the program was the opportunity it offered to these documentary filmmakers to connect with women in neighboring countries and take some initial steps that could lead to future collaborations.
Thanks go to the U.S. Mission in Ankara and the İFTYD for their support - and extra thanks to Cynthia and Anjanette for sharing their wit and wisdom.
