Not just the design, but the cultural significance of the bicycle has changed since it was first invented in the 19th century. For some people today the bicycle offers a form of recreation; for others, the bicycle is an essential form of transportation. With the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the bicycle became a central element in a solidarity movement connecting restaurants and unemployed young people in Istanbul’s Kadıköy district. This optimistic short film gives us a look inside this green courier initiative that suggests we rethink our relationship with the internal combustion engine.
